The Community Foundation of Greater Winter Haven
The Community Foundation of Greater Winter Haven is a charitable organization established to encourage planned giving for the primary benefit of the residents of greater Winter Haven. It was formed on July 1, 2001, by a group of civic-minded citizens, who believed that a community foundation would facilitate local philanthropy to improve the quality of life in the greater Winter Haven area.
The mission of the Community Foundation of Greater Winter Haven is to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations by encouraging charitable giving from persons of all means.
As an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland, contributions and endowments placed with The Community Foundation of Greater Winter Haven are tax exempt under 501 (c)(3). Additionally, the CFGWH is equipped to receive and manage endowment funds, thanks to the expertise and staff support offered by CFGL. The governance structure and mechanisms are in place to professionally invest, manage, report and distribute donor funds.
