"Ann lives in a shabby trailer in NE Lakeland. Her home is falling apart. It is littered with junk, and she doesn't feel safe being home alone. Camp scholarship money from the CFGL enabled her to go to summer camp. She barely had enough clothes for 4 days let alone a whole week at camp. Ann had the best week of her life! Leaders gave her their own clothes, she had a safe place to sleep, three meals a day and adventures that she only dreamed of. She mountain-biked, did a high ropes course, climbed a mountain, and heard how much God loves her. Ann's life is changed forever because on one week at Young Life camp."
"Thank you for supporting our camp scholarship program!"

"Thank you for helping prepare children to enter school ready to succeed! CFGL's funding of the Family Fundamentals Bridge the Gap to School Readiness Program during the 2007 grant cycle enabled 5089 children, parents and caregivers to participate in a program specifically designed to teach and model outcome based activities that prepare children to enter school ready to succeed. 100% of the adults (parents, caregivers, early education providers) who attend classes, and completed surveys, indicated that activities they participated in with their child enhanced and helped develop both their skills and those of their child. Without your support this program would not have been possible."

"With the continued support of the CFGL, Florida Dance Theatre has been able to offer its' Summer Youth Dance Camp in July 2008 for the 7th consecutive season. The program enhances the lives of children from financially disadvantaged and foster families through the art of dance and related arts. Through this program over 1,000 children have been given the opportunity to learn a variety of ways of self-expression, while enhancing physical fitness and building self-confidence. We couldn't have done it without them!"

"Charlotte Harrell came to LVIM as a severe diabetic. Her health has improved dramatically since receiving treatment at LVIM. In order to give back, Charlotte became an LVIM volunteer and thanks to a grant from CFGL, LVIM was able to hire Charlotte part time managing the Prescription Assistance Program, which matches needy patients with pharmaceutical company giveaways. Due to Charlotte's diligence and expertise, the Prescription Assistance Program is able to secure over $1 million dollars annually in free medications for LVIM patients with chronic illnesses. Thank you CFGL for helping LVIM change and save lives in our community!"

"I want to personally thank all of you for providing "C" with a safe and enriching environment this summer. I feel so fortunate to have been awarded a scholarship and wanted you to know how thankful I am but what I appreciate most is not only the wonderful themes and projects, but the willingness of the staff to accommodate my son whenever possible (child with autism)… Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this a great summer."

"The Heartland for Children Adoption Photo Gallery was made possible through a generous grant awarded by the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland, Inc. The Photo Gallery showcases six professional photographs of children available for adoption in our local communities of Polk, Hardee & Highlands Counties. Finding a home is the beginning of a bright future for these children, their adoptive families and the community at large. Everyone wants a safe, loving place to call home, and children in foster care deserve it as much as anyone. By highlighting these local children, we hope to connect them to a local family. We are grateful to the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland, Inc. who made this project possible."
