Each year, the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland honors an individual whose life has had a direct impact on the charitable giving world and in particular the Lakeland area, at our Annual Legacy Event. The evening is open to the public and intended to create awareness of the positive impact each of us can have on our community through philanthropy.

Each year the CFGL offers quality programs to educate our donors on local needs, current trends in philanthropy or training programs focused on charitable giving. These programs are led by professionals in their fields, making it valuable for the participants.

The CFGL offers programming to educate local non-profit agencies on current trends in the non-profit world relating to philanthropy. The programs are facilitated by professionals that understand the needs of agencies and the challenges they face.

The mission of the Community Foundation is to provide a vehicle that promotes philanthropy. A Professional advisors role in assisting clients with financial decisions is crucial to that goal. Therefore, it is the intent of the CFGL to provide local forums in which professional advisors will be able to obtain continuing education credits in a comfortable environment that is stimulating, educational and hassle-free.
