Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland Announces John Fitzwater as President/CEO

Lakeland, FL - The Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland Board of Directors announces John Fitzwater as President/CEO. Fitzwater has been serving as Interim President since July 1 of this year. He will be responsible for executive leadership, vision and oversight for the direct programs, education and services related to the foundation.

"I am excited to take on this role at the Foundation," Fitzwater said. "I have established deep roots in Lakeland through family and friends, and am honored to have the opportunity to lead the organization as it grows in assets and relevance to our community".

Fitzwater has more than 40 years of experience in leadership. Most recently he served as Publisher for The Ledger and in a volunteer capacity has led various local non-profits, including the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, LEDC, The United Way of Central Florida, All Saints Academy and the Salvation Army; providing stability and leadership.

"John brings tremendous leadership experience to the Foundation," said Ihla Sloman, Board Chair. "His know-how in the day-to-day operations as a leader and manager-will benefit the organization greatly."
