Pensacoloa, FL - In response to what may become the Gulf Coast’s most significant environmental disaster, the Greater Escambia Community Foundation, Inc. has opened the Pensacola Environmental Relief Fund. Proceeds from this fund will support nonprofit agencies engaged in first response work to help the communities most affected by the oil spill in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

“The goal of the Fund is to provide support to organizations in cleanup efforts as well as long-term recovery work that is critical to our wildlife and beautiful coastal communities,” said Eric Nickelsen, Chairman of the Foundation.

Donations to the Pensacola Environmental Relief Fund can be made to the Greater Escambia Community Foundation, Inc., 17 West Cedar Street, Suite 3, Pensacola, FL, 32502.  Donors are asked to note Environment on the check.
