The Community Foundation of Greater Winter Haven was formed in July, 2001, by leading citizens as a means to improve the lives of people within the greater Winter Haven area.

As a charitable organization, it offers an opportunity for anyone who cares about Winter Haven to give something back to the community he/she loves.

Because CFGWH is an affiliate of the Lakeland foundation, contributions and endowments placed with The Community Foundation of Greater Winter Haven are tax exempt under 501 (c)(3). Additionally, CFGWH is immediately equipped to receive and manage endowment funds, thanks to the expertise and staff support offered by Lakeland. The governance structure and mechanisms are already in place to professionally invest, manage, report and distribute donor funds.
