Establishing a fund within the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland is simple. A signed fund agreement and initial deposit are all it takes to get started. We'll help you define your charitable mission, help you choose the most appropriate philanthropic vehicle, research local and national charities, monitor the impact of your investments, and maximize the tax advantages of your giving. The CFGL manages all tax, legal and administrative details, leaving you free to focus on your philanthropic goals.
We offer several types of funds:
Unrestricted Fund - Allows the Foundation to identify and respond to ever-changing needs by focusing dollars on creative and effective grants.
Donor Advised Fund - The donor recommends specific grants from the fund, based on his/her interests.
Agency Endowment Fund - Charitable agencies may establish permanent endowment funds, the income from which will provide them operating support forever.
Field of Interest Fund - The donor decides which area of need the fund should help. Grants will be given that impact that field of interest.
Designated Fund - Donors can ensure that grants will be awarded to their chosen organizations.
Memorial Fund- Set up a fund to forever honor a family member or friend. The fund may be dedicated to the field of interest or charities that would have pleased that person.
